Young Guns Of Quail Creek
More Than Just A Kids’ Hunting Club

Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is proud to sponsor the largest and most exciting clay target program for youth in the United States.

As the National Governing Body for the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), we provide kids from elementary grades through high school and college with the opportunity to participate in the fun and challenging sports of Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays, as well as the Olympic disciplines of Bunker Trap, Trap Doubles and International Skeet. SSSF is the official feeder program to USA Shooting and a path to the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team.

  • The program for scholastic shooting sports in Okeechobee welcomes boys and girls (3rd grade-high school) who are interested in learning the basics of sporting clays shooting under the supervision of certified coaches. The program is affiliated with the nationally recognized Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).
  • Young Guns of Quail Creek is a nationally recognized program that started 8 years ago with 3 kids. We now have over 100 kids from 10 different counties in Florida.
  • We have won the state and national championship several times in all the divisions.
  • Our emphasis is on sporting clays, but we compete in skeet and trap also at the state and national level thru SCTP.
  • The program groups kids into divisions according to their grade. Rookie Division is 3rd thru 5th. Intermediate division is for middle school and JV and Varsity are high school kids.
  • Our kids’ hunting club meets typically twice a month from October thru May with at least 4 scored shoots. We have two sessions 9:30am or 1:00pm
  • There is an annual fee per athlete and it covers 4 boxes of ammunition, coaching and practice targets during the scheduled Young Gun sessions.
  • There is a possibility that your child may not be ready to join this year.
  • After we do the evaluations, you will be notified if your child is not ready to join.

Young Guns is a 501c3 organization and accept donations. We have our annual fundraiser in March and we have been both state and national champions for the last 5 years. We also have several members of the SCTP and NSCA All American teams and the SCTP All State Team.
