How old do children have to be to shoot at Quail Creek?
At the sporting clays children 6 years old and older can shoot as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
What type of gun is allowed on the course?
You can only shoot shotguns at Quail Creek. All shotguns 12 through .410 bore are welcomed. No rifles, pistols or revolvers are allowed on the Okeechobee sporting clays courses or the ranch. All guns MUST BE UNLOADED with actions open at all times.
What is the difference between the 1 oz. and the 1 1/8 oz. shells?
The 1 oz. load contains less shot, therefore, you will have less recoil and usually the shot charge will be a little faster. The 1 1/8 load contains more shot which will give you more recoil than the 1 oz. shell.
What is the difference between true pairs and report pairs?
A true pair is when two targets are thrown at exactly the same time. A report pair is when one target is thrown first and the second one is released after the first one has been fired upon.
